Facebook offers McAfee security software trial

The world’s largest social networking site Facebook on announced Tuesday that it would be providng users with a free 6-month trial of McAfee security software suite Internet Security Suite, in order to protect user security.


McAfee offers an independent online tool that can scan and remove cyber attacks from Facebook user’s computer. Facebook said that this scanner will be available free of charge to users. If Facebook users after 6 months probation or after the expiry of the Internet Security Suite purchase McAfee software, Facebook is not going to take McAfee’s revenue-sharing from user’s subscriptions. As a cooperating part of the deal, McAfee will buy Facebook’s advertising.


Facebook and other popular social networking site that is now become most concerned about hackers and cyber-criminals target. Internet criminals use social networking site users now sites are trying to prove that they are not vulnerable.


According to Facebook representative there are less than 1% of users had been subjected to security problems.


Facebook spokesman BarrySchnitt informed that we believe that protecting the Facebook network and the accounts is undoubtedly a good job, but we will continue to strive to do even better.


Right now English version of the scanning tool is available, and soon other language versions will forays for Facebook users.


The United States, Britain, France and the other eight countries Facebook users can currently download the free version of the McAfee Internet Security Suite software, other countries will be able to software within 3 months .
