Malware Targets iPad users On Windows Platform

Users of Apple's iPad tablet computer have been targeted by hackers with an email offering a fake iTunes update that downloads malware to their Windows PCs, internet security firm BitDefender warned yesterday.
The company reported on its official blog that several iPad users who also owned a Windows PC had received an email with the subject line 'iTunes Software Update'.

Undersea Internet cables 'could detect tsunamis'

An Indian-origin researcher has proposed waht he claims is a cheaper and capable way of detecting an approaching tsunami,by the use of undersea Internet cables to sense its eletric field.


Tsnami waves,like the ones that killed over 200,000 people in Indian Ocean in 2004,create an electric field as they form.This field can be suspected by the help of a network of underwater sensors which would be too expensive to build.

MusicDNA,a digital music file,could help the industry by encouraging music lovers to pay for the latest hits,according to the developers.


The team that primarily did their job on the MP3,which turned the music industry on its head,announced yesterday  what they wish will become its successor at the Midem industry conference in Cannes.MusicDNA will not only be consisting of music but also will be carrying  together a range of artist information,from artwork and song lyrics to tour dates  and Twitter feeds.

Google.cn on the verge of closure

Search gaint Google have declared that they are considering to shut down Google.cn and its offices in China.This occurs after the detection of a China-originated,assault on Google that occured in the mid-December 2009.


According to google,the Gmail accounts of the advocates of human rights were the victims of this malicious attacks,corresponding to the news reported by businessweek.com on Janaury 12,2010.

Launch of Android phones postponed in China

The dispute between google and the China got more messy,with Google being forced to delay the launch of two Android phones Motorola and Samsung on the China Unicorm carrier.It also said it no longer wants to censor its Chinese Google.cn search site and wants talks with Beijing about offering a legal, unfiltered Chinese site.


Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu pressed the company a little more on Tuesday in comments that suggested minimal room for giving way to Google's demands.
